Marie Parvex talks about how she started doing traditional investivative journalism but then realised that what is underlying many "businesses" was the issue of networks. So, she began to look for ways to make these networks intelligible through data journalism.
Investigative data journalism
Marie Parvex is an investigative journalist for the Swiss newspaper Le Temps. She recieved the Prix Jean Dumur in November 2014, for her reporting on major controversial topics covered in the canton of Valais (Giroud files and Mercury pollution). She has been awarded with this prize in recognition of her courage and perseverance in finding the truth, as well as for her unique writing style.
