Meet the team
We are the team of passionate volunteers who are curious about everything and aim to promote ideas worth spreading in Lausanne and whole Switzerland. We highlight exceptional people and their creative work, connect people across disciplines and create conversations that drive action.
Beyond organizing TEDxLausanne events, our team forms a fresh and dynamic community, always evolving and in search of new ideas and projects to share
TEDxLausanne was created in 2010, to extend the TED experience at a regional level in Lausanne and canton of Vaud.
We aim to shine a light on what is being achieved in Switzerland, share our innovative and inspirational tissue to the world while, at the same time, infusing the best ideas from abroad in the local community.
TED and TEDx
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “ideas worth spreading”. Started in 1984 in California as a four-day conference about Technology, Entertainment, Design, TED has broadened its scope and grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. At TED, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in a maximum of 18 minutes. Talks are then made available for free at TED.com.
TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world; and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
